Sometimes last minute decisions are found to be very stressful..... but I am still in love that we can pretty much choose our own schedule and do what we want, when we want!!!!
We hadn't been up to the provincial park yet this summer since the warm weather made its appearance. So we decided last minute yesterday afternoon to take a picnic up there and do some fishing for the first time this year. Yes, this lady did catch the first fish!!!! But I am not sure why I go fishing, because I think it is so gross, and cringe at the thought of those slimy, ugly looking things... I can't even put the worm on the hook.... that too grosses me out! Oh well, I guess I at least get to spend the whole time with my hubby and enjoy the rest of the outdoors and the sunshine!!! :) and not to mention, take lots of PICTURES!
Hubby did end up catching a fish later on, but it was too small, so he tossed it back in. He also got some more practice at his fly fishing, which he was very happy about. Yes, true boy him is! :) And he CAN'T WAIT until 'bro' Steve gets home...... every time we are in the outdoors Steve, he mentions your name!
'Steve would just love it up here', 'Man, I can't wait until Steve gets home', 'Steve would think this is pretty cool, etc'...... We are anxiously awaiting your arrival man!!! ;)
In the picture below, if you look just above the tallest tree, you can see a faint column of bugs! Dean and I had been driving for a while and could see waaaaaaay off in the distance, this black column in the sky that looked to be 25 ft high at least..... we get closer, and realize, there are multiple columns of bugs in the air..... WEIRD! This wasn't the picture of that column, but we decided to take pics of other columns on our way home after we had discovered what it was that we were seeing.
Yes, this IS hubby holding the fish that I CAUGHT..... he was a bit disgusted that I wouldn't even hold my own fish... hahahaha. Got too grossed out after seeing the blood oozing from the fish' mouth after having to remove the hook he practically swallowed. nastiness!
Getting a little too much sun on the scalp.... and forgot the sunscreen.... whooops!
Yuppers, we did see a bear, but couldn't get any great shots of him.... either grass in the way, or he was way to taken up with finding something to eat on the ground.... thankfully not anything in a vehicle! The previous evening, we just about hit one, as it came barrelling out of the ditch and we hadn't seen in prior to it being right in front of us! Whew! Close call!
Wrong focus.... whoops!
Hubby practising fly fishing!
And amuzed that the first thing he caught with his fly fishing rod was a SNAIL! :)
