A week ago at the 'Carp' farm....

A week ago we made a trip down to Lloyd for a couple of reasons....

1) we have two darling nieces that live just outside the city!!!!... and their ma and pa of course :)
2) some of our good friends JUST HAD THEIR FIRST BABY!!!!
3) an excuse to do some shopping
4) an opportunity to become mountain bike owners!!!
5) a good way to get out of the house on a lil getaway with my hubby :)

When we arrived at Kurt and Janine's, she had been working away and ripping up their old brick side walk leading up to the front step. Their plans are to pour a paved pathway. She is also 5.5. months pregnant!!!! Looking great and I can't believe how much energy this woman has.... she is amazzing!

Dean was enjoying every minute of the landscaping too. I think especially the part about operating the tractor....felt like days at the farm maybe?????

Here are some pics of those couple of days...

Lil Miss Cora was over to visit Zack too!!!! Isn't this smile/laugh contagious?

Lil Zack Jacob Dodds!!!! Born on April 10th.... isn't he precious????

A natural... Daddy and his boy! (Clint and Zack)
Missed getting one of all three of them together... next time I guess.

And onto the Carp farm..... I asked Keonna what her name was.... Keonna Ruth Carp.... as in Carpenter. :)

Can I help mom????

A Before picture of the walkway.... sorry, I forgot to get one of the after picture or rather the in between of it all Janine.

Anyone else having problems uploading pics on the blogger sites??? I have given up for today.....

Some over due pics of our place

I have also been meaning to post some pics of our place.

First off???!?!?!?!?

The office! Would like to do a red wall in here too, but haven't gotten permission to paint just yet!

Notice no pics of the desk area... need to clean it off yet to find it. hahhaha. Just kidding. I will have to get a pic of it yet.

Next up?!?!??!? The living room.

A Black and white picture of it..... I plan to do a darker colour on the walls in this room too as soon as I get permission to paint. This will tie the pieces all in together better.

A colour pic

The Front Entry

Next up???? the hallway. EXXXXXCITING. :)
Need something more on this wall as this frame looks a little small.... might get a canvas done eventually for here

Next up.... guest bathroom. Likely paint a light shade of brown in here too.

Update from this past weekend!

So no, we never did have a birthday party, but we did get to see half of our expected visitors and we did eventually get our piano too!

Mom and Dad came up after am meeting on Sunday as the weather had let up a bit and the roads were going to be okay. They had already loaded the piano on Thursday or Friday I believe so it was ready to go when the weather was okay.

So glad to finally have our piano.  Oh how I have missed thee! ;)  Actually, its not a piano we have ever owned before. This piano is somewhat new to us. If you haven't read some of our older posts, it is a piano we inherited from Gramma Sinclair... and feel to very very lucky to have been chosen to have it here in our home!!! I plays beeeeeautifully. Now if only my rusty fingers would work like they used to :(

On another note, we got another table too. This also came in the load from mom and dad's. It was a piano of Gramma Shultz' the one that the Shultz family grew up with. It came from the States when the family moved to SK. It says it was patented in 1915. Mom Sinclair tells us that they also used this table not only as a dinning table, but for table tennis too! I love hearing stories like that, of things they used to do to entertain themselves.... no toys, hardly any money, nothing special at all, just simplicity. They did with whatever they had around the farm.  They even had a circus in the summer time!!!! That has to be my all time favorite story! Well, maybe next to their pet/talking crow! (for those of you who haven't heard this story, its for real, they had a crow that would talk and laugh with them and at them on the farm. He was short lived though when he decided to stay around the farm over the winter when all the other crows left... and went to go and perch himself on the calf drinking bowl and drowned as a result. The ice was too thin and he fell right through) A sad day on the Shultz farm.

Now back to a happy note..... here are some pics of our new piano!!!!

Et VOILA! C'est fini!

Well the good news is I successfully finished the birthday cake no problem for Keonna!  But the bad news is, she isn't here yet.... and may not be coming. Depending on what this weather decides to do.  They were hoping to come today, however, the blizzard moved in early on, that Kurt was hardly even able to get to work today.  Mom S also phoned to say that they were going to wait it out, and while on the phone, she was telling is that she was watching their big trampoline BLOW around their yard. Yes, it was that windy!

So, SNOW, you may have won afterall.... but I still had fun decorating a cake today.

and yes.... it is suppose to be a Sheep!

My funny hunny!

So this morning I pick up my hubs from working a night shift. As I am tucking him into bed, he says to me Make sure you get lots done today love, so that we are ready for company.

My response was, yes, I am going to get make myself a coffee right now.... (not finished my sentence yet)

and he says You are going to start the day with a coffee break!??!?!? You are starting to sound like you work for the government.

HAHAHAHAHA. No slams against the government for all you dear and hard workers. :)

I meant that I was going to get my boost of caffeine to get me going for the day.

I love it when he makes me laugh and smile. Good way to start the day!

Soooo excited... the count down is on!

Well, we are definitely looking forward to another weekend of fun ahead!

1) We get to see two more of Dean's immediate family members and their other halves/family.
2) WE GET OUT PIANO!!!!!! after a loooooooong 8 months!!!
3) This auntie is going to bake another fun cake!
4) We might get to see some more friends we haven't seen in ages....
5) we might get snow on friday.... oh no wait..... THATS NOT SOMETHING I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO! I do think that the other four excitements will totally cancel it out though.

Which cake would you bake for a little niece who is about to turn 3.... who just moved to an acrearage, and likes CHOCOLATE?!!??!??!?!

This one????

or This one?????

I'm thinkin I am going with the Sheep cake... 1) I have all the stuff for it already, plus it seems like more of a three year old kind of cake. 2) I might not be able to find the curly pink stuff for the hair here in ML if I did the pony cake.

Here is another fun one that I totally would have done... except that I don't think we have all of these candies here in ML either.  Keonna LOOOOOOOOVES monkeys since going to visit Uncle Lyle in India a year and a half ago.

A Great weekend with GREAT company!!!!

We were sooo glad to have Jayden and Donna and boys come for a visit this past weekend. We have never had them all stay at our place before as a family, so that was extra bonus.... plus for them to come all the way ML for only a couple of days was also extra special!

The weekend consisted of eating, hiking, eating, bday cake, eating, shopping, bowling, eating, scenic drives into the park, eating and then swimming.... some great fellowship and some more eating! hahhaha. We had loads of fun cooking for them.... too bad Donna was put to work too! But glad to have her along... she is one amazzzzing cook!

Here are a collection of pics from the weekend. Included in our hike on Friday was little ZIZI. We offered to take her for the afternoon so her mom and dad and new baby could have some time to themselves. She is loads of fun!
