Today was a good day. Spent all day with my hubby... as he had the day off. Tomorrow he starts back on Days for Tues through Thursday.... then we get COMPANY for the weekend. I had to laugh... last time Peter was here, he wrote in our guest book 'sure hope you get company by the next time I am here'..... he has signed the last two or three times... hahaha. Yes, we knew Meadow wouldn't be much of an attraction for visitors to come too.... but we sure are happy we get company for the next TWO WEEKENDS~~~~
Donna and Jayden are coming this weekend with the boys! We are going to do some swimming (indoors of course) not lake season just yet... unless you wanted to go slip and sliding on the ice! We also hope to go bowling.. and maybe get some hiking in.
The following weekend, Mom and Dad Sinc are coming... and they are going to bring our piano!!!!!! Oh piano, how I have missed thee!!!! I have basically been without a piano since August of last year... and I have had the piano 'itch' lately... I just get itching to play that my fingers get antsy.... believe it or not. Thankfully when we go home to visit in Saskatoon I get a lil piano in there, and at the fort too! It will be extra special getting the piano in a couple of weeks... cuz this was Gma Sinc's piano. What a special item to have to remember her by. We will see it every day, I will think of her each time I sit down to play, the music will remind me of her happy song she always had in her heart no matter what the circumstances!!! We loved our Gma Sinc so very much!
Back to today's items...
Dean and I really wanted to spend sometime out in the fresh air. Today got to plus 17 or so. I can't remember what it actually topped off at. But it was windy and cloudy. So it didn't feel quite as warm as the temp said. However, feeling desperate to be outside... we decided we would rake our lawn. We didn't have any rakes... as we haven't had a lawn to rake in four years! We previously lived in a condo with just a small plot of dirt to have a flower bed in. So off to Co-op Dean went and purchased some rakes... and raked up three bags of leaves... we were two seconds away from putting the last scoop into the bag... and a HUGE gust of wind came. We looked down the street, and the park FULL of leaves started to swirl.....and it blew and it blew and it blew..... thankfully we are a few houses away from it so our raking didn't all go in vain. :)
Later on in the evening, we also watched our first Thunder and Lighning storm of the year.... which explains those nasty gusts of wind earlier on. ;P Neat to be able to watch it from both the front and back of our house.... Unlike the condo where it was just one window we watched from. :)
And to top the day all of.... we had a phone call from a dear dear couple.... whom celebrated their 65TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY TODAY!!! John and Marg.... you are a very encouraging couple to us all, we have enjoyed our days with you in the past and in your home. Special memories from being with you. Wishing we weren't so far away so that we could pop in to visit.
As for pics???? only two for tonight....
Hydrangeas from the Co-op.... aren't they stunning?
I also enjoyed a Dragon Fruit too lately.... Love them.... they are like a GIANT KIWI!!!! And this girl LOVES kiwis!!!!!

Wah-der-die-ding
Last weekend, we were going to have Andrew and Lisa and family at our place, however, one of our dear friends passed away.... G'pa Bill. He was like a G'pa to everyone.... someone who would go out of his way to be there for you..... or do something for you.... seemed like he showed up everywhere, but was in the background. So many good things to be said about him.... an amazing example to follow/live up to.
The funeral was on Saturday and took place in Regina, so we decided we would just spend the weekend there with A and L. We rented a hotel room at the Holiday Inn and Suites which had a pool and Waterslide.... which the kids AND UNCLE DEAN VERY MUCH ENJOYED! lol. I don't know who had more fun, the kids or dean. :) Lisa and I also had some successful shopping..... I got some pictures that are PERFECT for our living room. Will post a pic of them later on.
Here are some pics of the kids.... didn't get much of Brydon I realized after looking through them... nor did I get any of A and L. Next time I guess. :)
All set to go swimmin'
Three stooges.....
Kiera teaching Uncle how to 'play' dutch blitz.....
And I'm guessing she won! :)
Back massage for Uncle....
Sweet Dreams
And Pop for Breakfast :)

Jyles....
We just had a very quick quick stop in Saskatoon... but at least we got a lil hold in! Jyles is a month old tomorrow!!!! Hard to believe the time has gone so fast!
Here he is cooing away while having some relax time on the floor.

Some fun with the boys..... or just Ted.
This is Julie and Sheldon's dog. They have two Chihuahuas. One is pure bread and one is part Terrier.
Their names are Ted and George. (Teddy and Georgie) :) We get a kick out of them every once in a while.... its amazing how animals totally have their own personalities. I don't have any pics of George this time.... but he is the one that's small, skinny and HYPER... but totally protective of Jyles. We were downstairs playing monopoly deal with the fam... and Jyles was upstairs napping. So Julie had turned on the baby monitor...also leaving the door cracked open in case we didn't hear him. No sooner, do we hear this little whimpering cry.... not from Jyles.... but from George through the baby monitor!!!! George was just sitting there hoping Jyles would come out to play! lol. So a couple of times, some of us had gone up to get George outta there so Jyles wouldn't wake up.... the last time was my turn.... but George totally pretended as if he didn't see me and hid underneath the crib pretending he wasn't there..... I laughed and laughed.... cuz he was just like a little kid pretending to be innocent at something he was guilty for!
Here are some pics of Ted joining us for a round of monopoly deal!

It pays to buy warranty ..... most of the time!
Today we zipped home from Saskatoon in time to get our replacement couches.
We bought couches 5 years ago from the Brick. At the time of purchase, we also got a warranty package which included 5 year in home warranty and a leather kit (conditioner and spray, etc to maintain the leather). We had actually forgotten that we purchased it on our couches until my sister and brother in law told us of his sisters' experience with the Brick. They had their couches replaced with brand new ones no questions asked....
So we figured we would look up our receipt... and sure enough... we had purchased the warranty. Good thing, as our leather had started to peel/flake in a couple spots. Nothing really major major... but enough that it was noticeable.....
Anyway, I will stop rambling.. but figured it was pretty good to pay 100 for a completely new set of sofa and loveseat!!!
Can you tell which is the old and which is the new?

Time for Show and Tell!!!
Yes, this auntie has to show off .....AGAIN! Both of these nephews have had some photo shoots this past week and their mommas have shared the pics with this lonely auntie!!! Apparently they are both growing like weeds..... still haven't met Kade yet, but likely will this weekend as there is a funeral down near Regina. Grandpa Bill McDonald passed away monday morning. Hard to believe it was October of 2008 that grandma lydia passed away. It seems like forever ago.... They both lived a good long life... and have left such an incredible example behind. One to inspire us all if you knew them!
Here are some pics of KADE..... (Pat and Karen's 5th)
And..... here's JYLES (Julie and Sheldon's 1st)

Spring???!?!?!?!
Well, we thought that spring had finally decided to stay, until it started to flurry yesterday. That seems like the biggest joke! It gets all nice and sunny, everything melts, snow is almost gone.... and then WABAM! She starts to snow again :(
However, on the happy note, none of it stayed either!!!! Today the forecast for ML is +5... and I looked at the forecast for Tuesday..... +10!!!!!!!!!!
There is suppose to be an ice fishing derby up north here this weekend. We have been invited to go.... but ummmmm.... do I really want to be on the lake when its +7 degrees and a bunch of other people on top of the ice to up the chances of falling through?!?!?!?!
Here's some of my happy flowers.... from me to you!

And.... ITS OFFICIAL!!!!
Today we got some very exciting news in the mail. Dean got his certificate saying he has PASSED the Registered Nurse Exam that he wrote on February 3, 2010. This exam was 6.5 hours long... they were all multiple choice questions... however, questions worded in a way to make you doubt whether you are answering right or not.
Dean decided that he wasn't going to study for this exam at all. He did get the prep guide from one of his nursing friends, but decided that it wasn't worth it to get studying and then just get all worked up with anxiety over the exam .... for what??!?!?!?!? His point was "I have studied for 4.5 years.... why study now?" :)
And to prove his point, the brainiac PASSED!!! Did we have any doubt????? NOT ME!!!!
I am so proud of you hun, for all your hard work, persistence, and perseverance through the last 4.5 years!!!!!

Seriously???
I can hardly believe it, but this is the only pic I took from being in Toon town this past weekend. We were back there again for a compliance meeting for business.
I guess the rest of the time, I must have been holding him and arms were tied to take pics... Oh well, happy that I at least got lots and lots of snuggles! Thanks for letting me hog him mom and dad and j and s.
It was really cute, mom had set him up on the couch .. and he just snuggled right into the pillows as though he were a big boy, smiling and everything... it didn't last long ... but it sure was cute!
